Khaliah Gates – Senior, Accountancy Accordion Closed
Hello! My name is Khaliah Gates and I am currently a sophomore majoring in accountancy at The W. A. Franke College of Business. I am originally from Boise, Idaho but I have lived in Peoria, Arizona for most of my life. I chose to attend Northern Arizona University because of the amazing opportunities and resources the FCB offers to its students. Also, the beautiful scenery and environment of Flagstaff reminds me of my childhood in Idaho.
In addition to being an FCB ambassador, I am also a part of the Honors College here at NAU as well as the Business Leadership Program. In my free time, I enjoy weight lifting, hiking, traveling to new places, taking pictures, and attending the many events and clubs NAU has to offer such as BSU (Black Student Union).
This is my first year as an FCB ambassador and I am so thankful and excited for this opportunity. I look forward to helping students on their road to success within The W. A. Franke College of Business by being a mentor and a resource. Just a year ago, I was in your position so feel free to contact me at, or visit me during my office hours so we can chat! I look forward to meeting you.
Lisa Tafoya – Junior, Management with a Spanish Minor Accordion Closed
Hey there! My name is Lisa Tafoya. I am currently a junior majoring in Business Management, minoring in Spanish, and pursuing a certificate in Human Resource Management. I graduated high school in Safford, Arizona, where I spent most of my life, but I’ve lived all over Arizona and even spent a year in Indiana. I chose NAU because I loved the environment when I toured and knew I could thrive here.
Not only am I an FCB Ambassador, but I am president of Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity, secretary of the Dean’s Leadership Council, a founding member of the Society of Human Resource Management chapter here, and a member of Future Business Women of America.
This is my first year as an FCB ambassador, and I couldn’t be more excited to give back to the college that has given me so much these last two years. Always feel free to reach out to me or visit me in my office hours if you need any help or want to get more involved!
Anya Videan – Sophomore, Marketing and French Accordion Closed
Hi! My name is Anya Videan, and I am currently a sophomore majoring in both marketing and French. I was born and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona. One of the reasons I chose Northern Arizona University is because the W. A. Franke College of Business has so many wonderful resources for NAU students. I am proud to be representing FCB as an ambassador this year and look forward to assisting current, and future Lumberjacks navigate the many opportunities here.
I have been spending time in and around Flagstaff since I was young. I still enjoy exploring the beauty of the many National Parks here that offer some of the most amazing scenery and are so great for hiking, biking, and photography.
In addition to being an FCB ambassador, I am also enrolled in the Honors College and the Interdisciplinary Global Business Program. I especially love getting involved in NAU activities like concerts, movies, and guest speakers. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn and be more involved with both the Faculty and my peers at FCB and especially excited to share this knowledge with new students.
Gabriel Breakstone – Sophomore, Marketing and Hospitality Accordion Closed
Hello, my name is Gabriel Breakstone, and I am currently a Sophomore majoring in Hotel and Restaurant Management and Marketing at the W.A. Franke College of Business. I am originally from Los Angeles, California but grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona. NAU was my first choice for school because I knew I wanted to remain in-state. However, I wanted a different environment than in the valley. The natural beauty here at NAU, coupled with a more individualistic experience sold me.
Although I am a sophomore, I have extensive professional experience as an entrepreneur working in the marketing and public relations fields with a multitude of different industries.
Outside of being an FCB Ambassador, I am very passionate about staying involved with the Jewish community both here, and at home, and enjoy working out, and cooking. Additionally, I serve as a volunteer member of the Coconino County Sheriffs Office Search and Rescue Unit.
Being a freshman ambassador last year granted me special insight on how things go as a first-year student. I look forward to being able to assist students on their FCB journey. I would love to meet you and chat during my office hours.
