  • Corporate Financial Mgmt Undergrad Cert

Corporate Financial Management, Undergraduate Certificate

Do you want to be a corporate CEO?  If so, then training in corporate finance is a great way to start that journey. This certificate will enable you to gain a solid understanding of corporate financial theory and learn quantitative methodologies that will enable you to tackle financial decisions within a corporate environment. A strong emphasis is placed on valuation techniques and risk assessment, in addition to the everyday tools of a financial manager. Students will enhance their analytical and communication tools, through real-world cases utilized throughout the courses in this certificate. Students are exposed to a wide range of firms, industries, and economic situations in the analysis of cases, thus providing them with practice in applying financial theory and techniques in many different corporate environments.

This certificate is available only to Business majors in The W. A. Franke College of Business. While much financial management takes place in departmental or small business settings, the field of corporate financial management requires a more integrative perspective, including the ability to forecast financials, prepare strategies for guiding the corporate “ship” through rocky waters, and raise capital to fund growth opportunities. With five upper-division courses, students will gain an understanding of corporate theory, learn to apply theory and methodologies to real-world situations, and improve their spreadsheet modeling and communication skills.
