Business Foundations Graduate Certificate FAQs

Who is eligible for the graduate certificate curriculum? Accordion Closed

  • Post-baccalaureate students who do not have a bachelor degree or minor in business administration and who have completed the prerequisite math requirement.
  • Students who have been admitted to the NAU MBA program, but lack the prerequisite coursework.

When and where are the courses offered? Accordion Closed

All five courses are offered online during the summer term only, beginning mid-May and concluding early August. A current summer enrollment calendar can be found HERE.

When can I apply? Accordion Closed

Applications to the program are accepted year round.

Are there prerequisite course requirements? Accordion Closed

Applicants must have completed a math course at least one level above college algebra in order to enroll in the certificate program.

Do I have to complete all five courses in one summer? Accordion Closed

In accordance with NAU policy, you must complete the certificate program in six years. Therefore you can complete it over a number of summer terms, depending on what suits your needs and circumstances. There is a limit on how many terms you may skip without reapplying to the program. Please contact the NAU Graduate College for additional information.

You may take a couple of the courses without enrolling for the certificate program. However, if you decide to take all five and want to receive the certificate you must apply and be accepted into the certificate program.

How do I enroll? Accordion Closed

Once you have been admitted to the NAU Graduate College, you may enroll according to the schedule posted at the NAU Registrar.  Summer enrollment typically begins early March.

Do I receive a diploma upon completion of the certificate? Accordion Closed

Your completed plan of study will be posted to your transcript and you will receive a graduate certificate by mail. Individuals completing Graduate Certificates do not participate in Commencement.

What are the requirements for international students interested in the program? Accordion Closed

International students interested in the program must contact the Center for International Education prior to applying to the program HERE.
