What Resources are Available for Online Learning?
While some prefer online classes, sometimes they can be more challenging requiring excellent time management and organizational skills. Therefore, it is important to explore various resources that may be available to you that you possibly did not know about! Here are some resources that could help you confidently complete your online learning experience.
Professors want to be there for their students and to help them succeed in classes. During online learning, they are the perfect resource if you have any questions about the coursework or assignments or need guidance on how to proceed in the class. Even if they are unable to help you directly, they are a great resource to find other resources available to you too.
When reaching out to your professor, their contact information will always be listed in the syllabus. Always be sure to check the syllabus for their contact information to ensure it is correct. If you are sending an email, always double-check and make sure your email is constructed in the professor’s preference, if they have one. In emails, you want to be professional and to the point, just like in your future career. Here are some professional guidelines when sending emails.

Another vital resource available online to students from the Academic Success Center are Supplemental Instruction (SI) Meetings, which I will talk about in the next section.
Supplemental Instruction (SI) Meetings
Supplemental Instruction (SI) meetings are a popular resource for students, as it is essentially an additional drop-in class available to students who may need extra guidance in a specific class. They help students’ class-wide on an online platform understand various topics in class that may have been difficult to understand to help and reteach it in another way. In these SI Meetings, they will also help you with your homework problems and go through step-by-step with some of them to walk you through the process so you can understand them for future exams.
These are some fantastic ways to jump start your way to successfully complete your online classes. Are there other resources you have found to help you with online learning? If so, share with us on Facebook or Instagram!
