Dr. Fe Murray received an EdD degree in Curriculum and Instruction, with a research emphasis on culturally and linguistically diverse exceptionalities (CLDE) from Northern Arizona University. She is currently an associate clinical professor in the Communications Science and Disorders (CSD) department, where she primarily supervises graduate students in their clinical practicum rotations, teaches graduate courses, and guest lectures on cultural and bilingual issues. Dr. Murray has coordinated and supervised the department’s neurological choir, The Mountain Tremors, for the past 5 years. As a bilingual speech-language pathologist (SLP), she leads the clinic’s bilingual evaluation and screening team. Prior to joining the NAU faculty, Dr. Murray worked as a licensed and certified SLP for over 25 years in various settings, most notably in and around the Navajo Nation. Her clinical and research interests include pediatric speech sound disorders, language disorders and delays, impact of cultural values on treatment, bilingual assessment and treatment, cultural reciprocity, cultural responsiveness, cultural humility, humane and respectful and client/family empowerment. She is LSVT™ certified for the treatment of patients with Parkinson’s disease, is a Hanen-trained SLP, is trained in the LiPS® program for Reading, Spelling, and Speech, and is a strong advocate for and supporter of diversity, inclusion and access for people with disabilities and those who identify was neurodiverse. Dr. Murray has a long history of involvement and advocacy for Audiologists, SLPs, and SLPAs in the state of Arizona as a long time executive board member of the Arizona Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ArSHA), including as a past president. She is currently a volunteer on several boards within the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
