COVID-19 exposure notification app
Covid Watch Arizona
Jacks, let’s axe COVID together. Download Covid Watch Arizona, our new, anonymous exposure notification app, to help stop the spread of COVID-19 on campus with your phone.
Jacks are Back for fall 2020. Let’s help keep it that way with Covid Watch Arizona, our new COVID-19 exposure notification app for iOS and Android devices. It’s free to download and easy to set up.
Get the app on Google Play by searching for “CovidWatch.” Or download it from the App Store by searching for “Covid Watch Arizona.”
Select Northern Arizona University as your region, review the setup screens, and enable your phone’s Bluetooth—that’s it.
Covid Watch Arizona is more effective the more people on campus download it. Ask other Jacks to download it, too.
When Covid Watch Arizona users are near each other, the app uses private Bluetooth signals to determine how long and how close those phones were together.
If a Covid Watch Arizona user tests positive for COVID-19 from Campus Health Services or with saliva testing, they will receive a random verification code that they can enter into the app. Once that verified code is entered into the app, Covid Watch Arizona will send exposure notifications only to other app users that were close enough and long enough to be at risk for COVID-19.
If you receive an exposure notification, you’ll see your risk score in your in-app dashboard and next steps to take, which may range from monitoring your health to contacting Campus Health Services for a COVID-19 test.
Covid Watch Arizona is powered by Apple’s and Google’s jointly developed Exposure Notifications System, which was designed to protect user privacy. That means Covid Watch Arizona does not track your location, access your contacts, or store or use any personal information. Instead, the app uses random, anonymous Bluetooth signals to determine how long and how close Covid Watch Arizona app users were together.
Randomized Bluetooth signals help measure and determine your potential exposure risk. The signals do not carry personally identifying information and their location is never tracked.
Exposure notifications do not use or send any personally identifying information. Only the date and time of the potential exposure is logged.
Before downloading Covid Watch Arizona, make sure your phone can support the app and is up to date with the latest OS available:
