Research and teaching interests
Jerry Thull has been involved in communication since 1992 when he began working as an advertising executive for New Times, an alternative weekly newspaper in Phoenix. After earning a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Nevada, Reno, he managed the newsroom of a daily newspaper in Sparks, Nevada. More recently he managed public relations for Grand Canyon Railway and marketing for the Flagstaff Convention and Visitors Bureau. During his career, Thull has seen digital grow to dominate the media environment. Today his focus is on helping students develop skills that will prepare them for rewarding and productive careers in an ever-evolving media environment.
