Media Innovation Center

Creators wanted for hands-on media experience

If you’re ready to work, the MIC is where you should be. We have the tools and experienced professional advisors to help you achieve your goals so you can land the job you want. You can earn course credit for anchoring a live television newscast, writing for a digital news site, hosting a radio show, producing a podcast, producing films and more. Our media programs are student-run and they operate with faculty advisors who make sure you get the real-world experience you need to compete in today’s job market. We produce award-winning news and sports for the entire region, not just the campus. Our independent films compete on the national stage.

Best of all, there’s no waiting until your senior year to get involved. You can start earning credits in the MIC as a freshman and keep enrolling in our hands-on courses throughout your time at NAU. You can stick with one program or try all of them. Our lab classes are right-sized, so you get the personalized instruction you need. We are all about teamwork in the MIC, so there is always a fellow student ready to help you out as well. Whatever your dream, we can help you make it come true. And you might just make some lifelong friends along the way.
