NAU faculty attending Commencement

Ceremony details

We look forward to your participation in commencement exercises. Please check this website regularly for updates.

Tips for a smooth event

When you arrive to the Skydome, please enter through the West entrance. Have your regalia draped over your arm to go through security. Faculty must present some form of ID (NAU Jacks Card, driver’s license, etc.) to enter. If you don’t have any form of ID with you, the staff at the entrance will have a full list of faculty to verify your ID.

Proceed to the appropriate staging area, on the north end of the Skydome floor, coinciding with your college. A faculty reception will be hosted by the president 90 minutes before your ceremony. An invitation and additional information will be emailed to faculty ahead of commencement.

For enhanced security, the University has instituted a clear bag policy. Please review the policy at for items that are allowed to be brought into the Skydome.

Please wear academic attire, including headwear. Only faculty in full academic attire will be permitted to march in the procession and be seated in the section reserved for faculty. Faculty needing to rent academic attire may choose to order from one of the following:

Share your stories

We want to share stories of student achievement—and the role of faculty in that success—with local news media during this time of celebration. Whether it is a student overcoming great obstacles or conducting significant research during his or her time at NAU, if you have a story, we want to hear it. Please send your story ideas to inside@nau.edu or call 928-523-2282.
