Setting our goals Helping you achieve yours

CEFNS Career Development is dedicated to:

  • providing tools to develop a foundation of self-awareness including knowledge of your strengths, interests, and values
  • coaching you in the accumulation of identity capital through the deliberate process of selecting and reflecting on experiences in and out of the classroom
  • serving as career development thought leaders and innovators at NAU and beyond

For students and alumni: career resources

CEFNS Career Development is in partnership with the university Career Development office. They can provide high-level assistance with majors and careers, career preparation, job searches, and continuing your education.

For employers: on-campus recruitment

Meet and hire our talented CEFNS students

NAU’s CEFNS students graduate with the skills needed to take the next step in their career. Many employers realize the value in hiring an NAU graduate, and we welcome you to explore the options available to you as a potential employer for our students, such as inviting students to job-shadow one of your organization’s professionals or sponsor a site visit for interested students. Contact us to make arrangements or receive more information.

Visit a career fair

Scores of companies participate in specialized career fairs to meet promising students in forestry, mathematics, and the natural sciences. Registering for the career fair means you also have the option to register for info sessions taking place during the fair. Be sure to inquire about scheduling job interviews with prospective employees the day following the event.

Additional information

CEFNS encourages on-campus recruiting and employer presentations in the fall (October–early November) and spring (February–early April). Contact CEFNS Career Development at least one month in advance to plan your event.

Your company can register for a customized information session, with fees ranging from $400 to $600 for corporations and $300 to $500 for governmental or non-profit organizations. The fee includes room reservation(s), refreshments for your team and the students, individualized tech support with Handshake (our online job board), parking passes and campus maps for each team member, event promotion to students via multiple methods, and student workers to assist your team during your visit to NAU.

The fees for a custom information session cover our operating expenses. Any remaining revenue supports career development seminars for NAU CEFNS students to help them develop the professional skills that you’re looking for. Sponsoring this program ensures you have candidates who possess skills that reach beyond the technical capabilities they’ve acquired during their academic careers at NAU. Should the fee present a hardship for your organization, please contact us. You may be eligible for a fee reduction. You may also set up a table in a common area within a CEFNS building during regular business hours. Although no logistic support is provided for this type of recruiting (like parking passes, catering, advertising, etc.), CEFNS Career Development does not charge a fee for this. Contact us to schedule a date. This is only available for dates after the CEFNS career fairs each semester.
