Everyone knows that a STEM degree is hard work. We’re here to support you at every step of this journey. There are two Academic Success Centers (ASC) locations on the Flagstaff campus to help CEFNS students. The ASCs offer personalized peer support and resources that build your confidence, cultivate your independent learning, and help you foster collaborative connections in CEFNS and the greater NAU community.

Tutoring

Free tutoring services are available to NAU science, forestry, and engineering students, including one-on-one, drop-in, and online tutors.

Supplemental Instruction

Supplemental Instruction (SI) is a series of weekly review sessions led by students, for students. Peers facilitating these courses have already taken them and successfully mastered the material, and they will help you with any areas you’re struggling to understand. For students taking difficult and challenging CEFNS courses, SI sessions can make the difference.

Academic peer mentoring

ASC peer mentors are current NAU students who work one-on-one with you to help you develop strong study skills. Students in any CEFNS class may receive mentoring.

The Southern Nevada Northern Arizona Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (SNNA-LSAMP) program supports underrepresented minority students pursuing STEM degrees through a comprehensive approach to student development, community building, and career readiness.

Test prep

Looking ahead to graduate school? ASCs offer GRE®, GMAT®, and LSAT® test prep assistance for NAU students with affordable, high-quality instruction.

Testing center

The testing center at the ASC supports student success by offering exams that forestry and natural science students may need for a variety of reasons.

Lumberjack Mathematics Center

The Lumberjack Mathematics Center offers modern computer labs and study rooms in addition to first-year mathematics courses to help NAU students master their math skills.
