Power up your Arizona workforce

NAU’s College of Engineering is helping Arizona prosper and become a global leader in cutting-edge manufacturing, engineering, and technology fields. With the state’s rapidly growing semiconductor industry and demand for quality assurance, cybersecurity, and AI training, our college is committed to fueling the economy with a knowledgeable workforce and K–14 STEM awareness. Our students and your workforce can gain skills through workshop training, professional certifications, formal degrees, and a state-registered apprenticeship focused on calibration and quality control. NAU also encourages engineering curiosity with a mobile STEM unit that spreads industry awareness and offers hands-on training and teacher instruction in underserved areas of Arizona.

NAU: leading the way in metrology and quality assurance education

NAU is set to expand training programs and research related to metrology, a foundational component of semiconductor and advanced manufacturing. This innovation comes with the support of a $13 million CHIPS Act grant from the Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA). Metrology training is integral in manufacturing in areas of process control, yield improvement, and quality assurance.

Arizona is a central hub of semiconductor manufacturing, and NAU is proud to produce the next generation of engineers, innovators, and creators for the Arizona semiconductor ecosystem. Our groundbreaking programs expand metrology training and R&D to fill significant workforce gaps and advance Arizona’s leadership in chip technology and innovation. Contact us today to learn more.
