Jacki Ireland, Class of 1995
Commissioner Jacki Ireland earned her BS in Criminal Justice from NAU in 1995, minoring in Philosophy. The four years she spent at NAU were some of the best of her life, and she loved her Criminal Justice, Philosophy, and German classes. Commissioner Ireland credits her Philosophy professors with helping her to enhance her critical thinking skills and encouraging her to always remain curious. While at NAU, Commissioner Ireland was also a cheerleader and dancer on the NAU spirit line, where she made lifelong friends.
Commissioner Ireland attended law school at the University of Arizona and then moved to Phoenix to practice law, first as a Deputy County Attorney for Maricopa County and then as an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Arizona. In 2007, she was appointed as a Superior Court Commissioner in Maricopa County, and she has served on the criminal, juvenile, probate, family, and civil benches.
Commissioner Ireland enjoys working with and serving the public and encourages everyone to engage in public service in some way. Commissioner Ireland is married to her wife, Jennifer, and they have two children. She is a proud, life-long Lumberjack.
