2018 Gold Axe and Distinguished Senior student recipients Accordion Closed
Our Gold Axe and Distinguished Senior student recipients were recognized. For our new faculty and staff, a small gold axe pin is given out by our student government (a tradition since 1933) to seniors who have outstanding achievements and record of distinguished service. This year, our Gold Axe recipients and their educators of influence were Christina Vega (Claire Schonaerts), Theresa Wedlich (Barb Veltri), Alexa Geiger (Nikki Huffman- Diving Coach) and Amanda Grimshaw (Karen van der Veer-Faculty in Sus Comm and First Year Seminar). Our distinguished senior award went Shaelyn Jiron. Shaelyn is in Germany student teaching in the DoDDS program, and her award was accepted by her cousin. Please see attached pictures. Please join me in congratulating our students for their achievements and distinguished service, as well as their educators of influence.
