About the COERC
The College of Education Research Center (COERC), began its operation in the fall of 2014, and is a revitalization of the former Faculty Research Center, established in the summer of 2004. The mission of the COERC is to facilitate faculty productivity in research activities that contribute to the goals of the College of Education at Northern Arizona University and to the many professional disciplines comprising the college.
Values and guiding principles

Goals and objectives
- Support faculty research by providing training and resources in research methods and research tools to increase faculty member’s knowledge, skills, and self-efficacy in being motivated and self-directed researchers.
- Conduct and coordinate research seminars, workshops, brown-bags, and sabbatical presentations for COE faculty (and students).
- Provide research resources (such as SPSS tutorials and IRB information) on the COERC website for COE faculty (and students).
- Increase COE’s national reputation in the area of scholarship by using the COERC website to share and highlight faculty research (publications, presentation, and sabbaticals).
- Provide information on professional conferences for COE faculty (and students).
- Provide information on research opportunities for COE faculty (and students).
COERC’s unifying model
Created by Drs. Gypsy Denzine, Daniel Kain, and William F. Martin (2006), the COERC observes their unifying social-cognitive model of faculty members’ motivation and performance in the area of research.
