‘Stronger Together Worldwide’ Virtual Exchange Program
NAU’s Virtual Exchange program aims to help students develop intercultural competence and cross-cultural communication skills. Through a mix of synchronous and asynchronous activities, students will have the opportunity to engage with international and domestic NAU students to enhance their understanding of how cultures vary and shape the human experience.
This includes a required one-credit course that will give students the opportunity to:
- Participate in a wellness forum to learn and share tips related to maintaining health and wellness.
- Learn about NAU and the southwest region while engaging in major-specific courses.
- Experience the world through the eyes of their classmates via virtual field trips.
In addition to this course, Virtual Exchange at NAU will provide students with:
- Assistance in enrollment in NAU online courses
- Access to virtual events held by NAU online
- Opportunities to engage with other virtual exchange participants and NAU students in live & informal settings
Do I need a student visa in order to take online classes at NAU? Accordion Closed
No. You can enroll in online classes at NAU without having a U.S. student visa.
Does enrolling in online classes at NAU guarantee that I will receive a student visa in the future? Accordion Closed
No. The student visa interview process is overseen by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security through U.S. embassies and consulates in your home country. Having previously demonstrated academic achievement at a U.S. institution could benefit your application, but it does not guarantee that you will receive a student visa for travel to the United States.
