Background
Amanda Urbina is currently a PhD student at the University of Arizona Mel & Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health. Amanda is a member of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe and grew up in Tucson, AZ. Her work and research have focused on American Indian Health disparities in cancer, youth education, and substance abuse and suicide. Amanda has worked with tribal communities and organizations in the state of Arizona.
Current projects
Amanda is currently providing technical assistance on a substance misuse and suicide prevention grant with the Havasupai Tribe. She is also currently forming her dissertation research with the Pascua Yaqui Tribe.
