Steps to apply

Follow the steps below to apply as a full-time student seeking a bachelor’s degree at the NAU–Yuma campus.

1. Complete an online application

Complete the online application below and pay the $50 application fee.

2. Submit your passport copy

Upload a copy of your passport to your application or email it to studynau@nau.edu.

3. Submit your official transcripts

Upload copies of your official transcripts from all secondary (high school) and post-secondary (college or university) education* to your application, as well as any vocational or ESL grade reports. You can also later email it to studynau@nau.edu. All transcripts or mark sheets must be submitted in English. In addition, we require a minimum of a 2.5 grade point average (GPA) for first-year and transfer students.

* Transfer students who have earned 24 or more credits at an American post-secondary institution only need to submit that transcript as part of their application. A high school transcript is not required.

4. Submit your English test scores

Upload a copy of the results of your proof of English proficiency to your application according to the procedures associated with your test provider. The minimum requirements for university admission are:

If you do not meet NAU’s English proficiency requirement, you may be required to take an English placement test upon arriving and/or enroll in Northern Arizona University’s Program in Intensive English until you pass the English proficiency requirement.

5. Provide proof of financial support

Provide proof of financial support via bank statements and the financial sponsor form for the total amount of estimated tuition and fees for the academic year (summer not included) as outlined below. The document is required for the SEVIS form I-20, the immigration form you will need to apply for a student visa.

If you are bringing dependents with you, please submit the financial sponsor with dependents form. Each dependent requires an extra $6,000.
