International graduation celebration


The Center for International Education hosts the international graduation celebration and reception at the end of each semester. It is a formal ceremony in honor of NAU’s graduating international students, graduating study abroad students, and our departing exchange students and visiting scholars.

All participants will receive a pin and a certificate at the international graduation celebration. Please note that this is not the official NAU graduation ceremony. All degree-seeking students must submit their formal graduation application to participate in commencement.

Registration

Registration invitations are emailed to eligible students. International students may register on iNAU through the international graduation reception e-form. If you are a degree-seeking international student or a departing exchange student, please email isss@nau.edu if you have any questions. If you are a graduating Education Abroad participant, please email StudyAbroad@nau.edu if you have any questions.

Who can participate

This ceremony is in honor of the following groups:

  • International students graduating with a degree from Northern Arizona University
  • Education Abroad students graduating with a degree from Northern Arizona University
  • Exchange students who have completed their exchange program at Northern Arizona University
  • Visiting scholars who have completed their program stay at Northern Arizona University

Attire

The international graduation celebration is a formal ceremony. We recommend you wear semi-formal or business casual attire. If you are participating in the official NAU graduation ceremony, we invite you to wear your robe.

This event is a time for you to be honored. Each participant who is registered for the international graduation ceremony will walk on stage, receive a certificate, and shake hands with officials from the Center for International Education.

Guest and parking information

Guests are invited to attend the international graduation celebration. Special seating with be available for guests and you must register and include the number of guests attending on your registration form. Parking permits are required for all vehicles parking on campus and there is no free parking for the international graduation celebration. Guests may purchase passes for visitors from parking kiosks around campus or from University Transit Services.
