SHERC’s advisory committee: invaluable experts that offer SHERC indispensable advice
Behind every effective health equity research center is a strong advisory committee. To form an effective advisory team, Southwest Health Equity Research Collaborative (SHERC) leaders brought together experts from across the country to assist the center in reaching its specific aims, milestones and evaluation benchmarks during the next five years.
The SHERC Advisory Committee’s most important functions are:
- Advise the Administrative Core on scientific, administrative and programmatic matters.
- Review the progress of research projects annually and make recommendations for future directions.
- Assist with concept development and program planning, program assessment, faculty development and mentoring, and identification of resources.
- Attend annual meetings in person and meet remotely during the year.
