Smith awarded Northwest NARCH Tribal Researchers’ Cancer Control Fellowship Program
Melinda Smith, a doctoral student in Northern Arizona University’s Interdisciplinary Health Program and a researcher at the Center for Health Equity Research, was recently awarded $30,000 through the Northwest NARCH Tribal Researchers’ Cancer Control Fellowship Program (TRCCFP).
The award supports TRCCFP Fellows in designing and implementing cancer prevention and control projects within Indigenous communities over a one-year period. “This award will support me in designing and implementing my dissertation project, which will focus on cancer prevention among Indigenous people living with type 2 diabetes,” Smith said.
