Jaime Begay, a student in the Northern Arizona University Master of Public Health, Indigenous Health track and a graduate research assistant with the Navajo Native American Research Center for Health partnership, received the Louis H. and Betty J. Quayle Scholarship.

The scholarship provides up to $4,000 per semester to new or continuing degree-seeking graduate students (full- or part-time) who are members of a federally recognized Native American tribe or nation.

“Jaime is committed to the health and well-being of Native Americans,” said Nicolette Teufel-Shone, associate director of the Center for Health Equity Research and a professor in the Department of Health Sciences. “Her dedication and promise as a public health professional are grounded in her proactive and asset-based approach to advancing health equity.
