2022 Future Engineers Summer Camp
Interested in learning more about becoming an engineer?
We would like to welcome all students entering 7th and 8th grade to join our 2022 Future Engineers Summer Camp! The camp will be hosted from July 18th-22nd, check in will be held Sunday, July 17th at the NAU Flagstaff campus. This camp is hosted on the Flagstaff campus and all meals, lodging, and activities are provided.
With this camp, students will be able to learn more about engineering, what engineers do, and work on hands-on projects. They will also get to stay on campus at our residential halls and learn what going to college feels like. We will have faculty, staff, and current students helping with daily activities.
APPLICATIONS are now closed, check back next year for additional opportunities.
Next Steps after applying:
- If your child is selected to participate, you will receive a welcome packet from firstname.lastname@example.org. This packet will include the required waivers and forms.
- We will cover all expenses (meals, lodging, activities, materials) for the campers
- The cost of the travel to campus or any additional souvenirs (from the NAU bookstore, for example) is NOT included
In addition to the daytime activities listed below, we are scheduling nighttime activities for the participants such as a campus scavenger hunt, art and crafts, etc.
Sunday- Check-in and introductions
Monday- Introduction to computer aided design and 3D printing, Robot Driver’s Ed
Tuesday- Team Building, Sensors, CAD, 3D design, Manipulators
Wednesday- Sumo Bot Competition, Introduction to the space camp competition, designing and building robots
Thursday- Work on robots
Friday- Robot competition and award ceremony
