Residential colleges
Live with others who share similar majors or career interests
Every freshman student choosing to live on the NAU campus belongs to a Residential College that aligns with their academic college. Clustering students by this academic college provides an opportunity for them to make friends with other students in their major and/or classes.
The resources available to Residential College students include:
- A student mentor (Residential College Ambassador) available to answer questions and connect students to information
- Events specific to students’ college or major
- Faculty from the college who assist in planning events and meeting with students
- In-Hall Tutoring in all of the Residential College halls
- Advisors from the Gateway Student Success Center and/or the academic college to meet with students
Each Residential college has events and programming created specifically for the needs of their students. These include:
College-Wide and Major-Specific Programs:
- Fun and educational programs specific to each Residential College will be offered in the freshmen halls
- These programs are sponsored by Residential College Ambassadors and faculty from within the college.
- Students can attend events in any of the residence halls as a member of the Residential College program.
In-Hall Tutoring & Study Groups:
- Tutors from the Academic Success Centers are located in the Residential College halls throughout the week to assist with specific courses pertinent to majors within the colleges.
- Informal Study Groups are encouraged among students sharing similar classes in each Residential College hall.
Social & Community Building Activities:
- Residential College Ambassadors plan informal activities for anyone in their Residential College in order to get to know each other, the campus, and Flagstaff
