Does the university offer HIV testing? If so, how much does it cost?
Thank you for submitting your question to Ask the Health Nuts! According to NAU’s Health Promotions office, the university offers HIV testing, as well as chlamydia and gonorrhea testing, once a semester. They do this in partnership with Coconino County Health Services District. This screening has a $20 fee.
Campus Health Services also offers regular, ongoing HIV testing. The cost for this testing can vary, depending on your insurance. For example, students with Louie Care will be charged a $10 co-pay per service while students without insurance will be charged $58 for the office visit plus the cost of the test.
Other low cost options around town include:
- Coconino County’s STD Clinic HIV Services: (928) 679-7272
- Planned Parenthood – Flagstaff Health Center: (928) 779-3653
