Spend a Sunday afternoon experiencing music in Kitt Recital Hall.
The Northern Arizona University School of Music is celebrating spring and the newly-constructed Michael and Karen Kitt Recital Hall during a Chamber Orchestra concert featuring faculty soloists at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 5.
School of Music Associate Professor Daniel O’Bryant will direct NAU Music Faculty, Emily Hoppe, Louise Scott and Rita Borden in a performance of Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 5. Cris Inguanti performs Copland’s Clarinet Concerto and Heidi Hernandez performs Debussy Dances Sacred and Profane on harp.
Assistant conductors include graduate students Addison Mauro and Ell Sunman Lee. Tickets are $15 for adults; $10 for seniors, NAU faculty and staff. The concert is free for NAU students (with ID) and children under 17-years-old. Get tickets at nau.edu/cto, 928.523.5661 or at the concert. A $2 CTO fee is added to tickets purchased at the door.
The Kitt Recital Hall was built with great sound in mind. A team of music-loving architects and renowned acousticians designed the 255-seat venue to be filled with an “acoustical warmth.” The concert is sponsored in part by a generous donation from Michael and Karen Kitt.
