Mark Salvatore, associate chair of NAU’s Department of Astronomy and Planetary Science, said the program is meant to help students explore different areas of study early in their higher education and show that skills are transferable between the sciences. Salvatore and Center for STEM Teaching and Learning co-director Ron Gray were the program coordinators.
