Astronomer-musician David Koerner sits at his Steinway grand piano Wednesday night in Buffalo Park for an evening of lunar meditations, classical piano music and telescope viewing during a free performance titled Rising of the Flower Moon. The event, part of ARTx, featured piano pieces mixed with remarks by Koerner about the role of the moon in history, its geology and place in nature.

Professor Emeritus Dave Koerner gave an amazing moonrise concert at Buffalo Park two weeks ago, as part of the Flagstaff ArtX series. Yes, the grand piano was there, and Dave played into dusk and moonrise, and there were hundreds of people there.
