The Weiss Bequest was a significant factor in the establishment of the NAU Art Museum in the mid-1980s, and the museum is pleased to feature a range of the more notable sculptures and paintings from that gift. Of particular note are two portraits by Diego Rivera, which were restored a few years ago to an archival state that will protect the paintings for years to come. The show also offers works by Arizona’s home-grown Surrealist, Philip Curtis. Taken together, the selections demonstrate the breadth of Weiss’s collecting interests.
