NAU Art Museum is now open by appointment to the NAU community from Wednesday-Saturday. New to us this semester is Native Northwest: Contemporary, a whimsical presentation of contemporary artworks curated from the Macy Collection, by indigenous artists of the Pacific Northwest.
The exhibition includes Marie Watt, Rick Bartow, James Lavadour, and Joe Feddersen. Pitt, a former apprentice of NAU alumnus #RCGorman, is a descendent of the Warm Springs, Wasco, and Yakama tribes. Feddersen, who resides in Omak, Washington, is of Okanagan Colville heritage. Bartow was a descendent of both the Wiyot and Yurok tribes local to Northern California. Finally, James Lavadour is a resident of the Umatilla Reservation in northeastern Oregon and a member of the Walla Walla tribe.
All of these artists contribute colorful and dynamic artworks to the exhibition. Contact us via email to schedule your class or large group visit. #NAUArtMuseum viewing experience.
