Scottsdale facility
Our Scottsdale location offers junior and senior year classes in the Phoenix area. Students typically transfer from Community Colleges. The program is articulated with the two year interior design programs in Maricopa County Community Colleges, allowing the transfer of most first and second year credits. Scottsdale is a commuter campus with evening classes catering to students who have daytime obligations.
Work shown in the video below is from the Scottsdale location. The remainder of the work on this website is from the Flagstaff location.
Why is CIDA Accreditation important?
Accreditation
The NAU School of Art’s interior design program in Scottsdale has received accreditation from the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA). This accreditation affirms the program’s excellence and rigor and its ability to prepare students for professional interior design careers. CIDA is recognized as the leading authority on interior design education by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). The certification is for six years, the maximum period allowed, after which NAU will have the option to renew its accreditation again. Accreditation enables NAU graduates to qualify for certification in states such as Nevada, compete favorably for jobs where graduation from a CIDA accredited program is preferred, and places us on a par with other regional programs.
NAU is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission North Central Association accrediting body. As one of six regional accrediting bodies in the U.S., it covers 19 states. This allows credits from NAU to transfer to almost any other University internationally. The Interior Design program is pursuing specific Interior Design accreditation by a reliable authority on interior design education. Educational standards at professional-level interior design programs that culminate in a bachelor’s degree are evaluated and accredited by this council.
