Victoria Fimea ’83
Jeff Ferris Volunteer of the Year
Victoria Fimea has practiced law for 30 years, with her focus to represent the insurance industry. She is now Senior Vice President, Legal Counsel, and Head of Regulatory Department – North America, for Artex Risk Solutions, Inc. She is responsible for general corporate matters and regulatory relationships with regulators in the United States and Caribbean. She is a member of the bars of Arizona, California, Illinois, and the District of Columbia. She is admitted before many federal courts, the Federal Circuit Courts of Appeals, and the US Supreme Court. She is a frequent speaker and author on a variety of topics impacting corporations including litigation, fraud and money laundering, mergers and acquisitions, employment and labor, and government relations.
She is as dedicated in her support of NAU as she is to the law. Fimea has served on the SBS Advancement Council, the School of Communication Advisory Board, and the NAU Foundation Board in numerous capacities.
“She is always willing to volunteer wherever she is needed, and she is the most devoted and dependable alum I have ever had the privilege to work with. She is always on time, fully prepared, and organized—often traveling long hours to meet her NAU obligations,” Anne Buzzard wrote in her nomination letter for Fimea.
Fimea regularly serves as master of ceremonies for the SBS Hall of Fame and coordinates the SBS Hall of Fame nominating committee. She is also a member of NAU’s Heritage Society, True Blue Loyalty Society, President Associate Gold, and has established a large endowment in the School of Communication that provides travel funds for the Forensics Team.
