For military-connected students

NAU in-person Orientation and Veteran and Military Services (VMS) Virtual Information sessions are crucial steps in transitioning to Northern Arizona University as a new, transfer, or graduate student.

In-person Orientation

Veteran and military-connected students who will be attending NAU at the Flagstaff campus should register for the one-day, in-person Orientation specifically geared toward military-connected students.

Online Orientation

ALL military-connected students (including those who plan to attend the in-person Orientation on the Flagstaff campus) should complete the online new student Orientation no later than Thursday, Aug. 24, 2023.

  • Completing this online orientation will also provide you with access to the Priority Enrollment form.
  • Priority Enrollment is the quickest way to get an academic advising appointment and to set your course schedule.

Education Benefit Info Sessions

Each summer, NAU’s Veteran and Military Services hosts virtual Education Benefit Info Sessions designed to help you utilize and maximize your benefits, including GI Bill®, DOD Tuition Assistance, and/or Veteran Readiness & Employment.

Sessions for students beginning fall 2023 took place in June 2023. If you are an admitted NAU military-connected student and were unable to attend the VMS education benefit info sessions or are visiting this site after the session has occurred, email vets@nau.edu with your name and student ID number to ensure you are provided this crucial information.
