HOW TO RESPOND

QUICKLY determine how to PROTECT your life

GET OUT 

  • If possible, exit quickly and quietly
  • Leave your belongings behind
  • Keep hands raised and fingers spread
  • Continue moving from area using cover

HIDE OUT

  • If indoors, hide out of shooter’s view
  • Lock doors
  • Barricade entry and cover windows
  • Turn off lights
  • Silence cell phones
  • Spread out
  • Make an action plan
  • Only one person should call 911 

TAKE OUT

  • As a last resort and only when your life is in imminent danger
  • Act with extreme physical aggression; throwing items or attack the shooter
  • Incapacitate or disarm the shooter

CALL (928)523-3000 OR DIAL 911 AND INFORM THEM OF:

  • Location of shooters
  • Number of shooters
  • Description of shooters
  • Number and type of weapons seen
  • Number of injuries

WHEN POLICE ARRIVE

  • The #1 goal of Police is to locate and neutralize the threat
  • Remain calm; follow instructions
  • Put down any items in your hands
  • Raise hands, spread fingers and keep hands visible at all times
  • Avoid quick movements toward officer
  • Avoid pointing and screaming
  • Do not stop to ask officers for help or direction when evacuating
  • Realize additional Police and Medical will be arriving
