NAU Foundation Scholarships

The NAU Foundation offers scholarships for military-affiliated students. To apply:

Military Spouse Scholarship

  • Available to spouses of currently serving military members or veterans who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.
  • The application period begins in January for use in the next academic year

J Gordon McKenzie Scholarship


  • full-time student
  • 2.5 GPA or higher
  • undergrad
  • U.S. citizen
  • veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces
  • veteran who served overseas
  • involved on campus and/or in the community

Tillman Military Scholar

Tillman Military Scholars receive scholarships and other benefits.

Yellow Ribbon Program

Complete the Yellow Ribbon Program Application.

The Yellow Ribbon Program is a subsidiary program of the Post-9/11 GI Bill®  available only to veterans enrolled in the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) program. Active duty servicemembers and spouses are not eligible.

Under the Yellow Ribbon Program, Northern Arizona University and the Department of Veteran Affairs make matching contributions toward education expenses. The Yellow Ribbon Program allows for additional costs that go above what the Post 9/11 GI Bill®  will pay. Availability is limited and offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.
