Release from residence hall contract

Contact Residence Life to be released from your residence hall contract.

You may also get a contract release form from the front desk at your residence hall, and turn it back into the front desk. The Resident Assistant will start your paperwork.

You must contact your hall staff to officially check out of your room within 24 hours of withdrawal.


If you have health insurance through the university, you may receive a refund for remaining months. Contact Campus Health Services for more information.

If you have a parking permit, contact Parking Services for a partial refund.


If you need to store personal belongings, there are many storage options in Flagstaff.

The Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 (USERRA, 38 U.S.C. §§ 4301 – 4335) is a federal law intended to ensure that persons who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, Reserves, National Guard or other “uniformed services:” (1) are not disadvantaged in their civilian careers because of their service; (2) are promptly reemployed in their civilian jobs upon their return from duty; and (3) are not discriminated against in employment based on past, present, or future military service. The federal government is to be a “model employer” under USERRA. See 38 U.S.C. § 4301.
