Private Donor Scholarships
Various companies, foundations, and organizations offer
private scholarships with varying criteria. The
scholarships listed on this page are not offered or administered by NAU. Please review the spreadsheet to determine eligibility criteria. This is not an exhaustive list, and opportunities vary each year.
The priority date to submit a private donor
scholarship for the Fall Semester is August
1 and for the Spring Semester is December
1. Scholarship checks submitted by these dates will be posted to student
accounts prior to the start of classes.
For NAU Students
We encourage you to begin applying for
scholarships right away. Deadlines vary depending on the donor and scholarship.
Some donors may still be accepting applications while other applications may be
Applying for Scholarships
Research: Begin researching scholarship that are
awarded to students based on their college majors, hobbies, achievements,
grades, or other criteria. Organizations such as CollegeBoard and FastWeb can
help you find scholarships for which you may qualify.
Ahead: Donors may ask for
essays or letters of recommendation that explain why you deserve to receive
their scholarship. Consider creating a general essay template that you can
modify for different donors and begin gathering letters of recommendation as
soon as possible.
