Northern Arizona University offers scholarships to help you pursue a career in education
Scholarships can help reduce what you spend on tuition, and offset what you owe in loans later. NAU’s College of Education offers a number of scholarships to its students pursuing a bachelor of education degree, as well as those pursuing a graduate degree. For more opportunities, visit the university’s Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid website for more financing options.
College of Education Scholarships
The list below are College of Education scholarships that are normally distributed each year. They are organized by those for only undergraduates, those for only graduate students, and those for either undergraduate or graduate students.

Scholarship award process
Northern Arizona University’s College of Education scholarship committee is comprised of faculty from each of our 4 departments (Teaching and Learning, Educational Leadership, Educational Psychology, and Educational Specialties). The committee meets each spring to award scholarships for disbursement in the following school year.
The award committee selects students for scholarship awards. Once the award committee has determined recipients for the next academic year, email messages will be sent to all students that completed the application. This email will inform students whether they have or have not received a scholarship.
All scholarship applicants should expect to hear from the scholarship committee by end of April or by the first few weeks of May. If you are selected as a scholarship recipient, an award letter and contract will be sent a few weeks following selection, from this same email. Signed contracts and donor thank you letters will be required by mid-June.
Scholarships payments may be split between fall and spring semester, or awarded for either fall semester or spring semester. On average, over 100 students are awarded scholarships each year with an average award of greater than $1000. For the teacher education scholarships, the committee favors awarding scholarships to students during their student teaching semester.
