The School of Music annually hosts several festivals, both instrumental and vocal.
Our annual Orchestra Festival brings together talented musicians from sixth to twelfth grade in early November. Ensembles participate in adjudicated performances, clinics, and special master classes. [read more]
Jazz Madrigal Festival
The annual Northern Arizona University Vocal Jazz Madrigal Festival, one of the largest festivals of its kind in the Southwestern United States, features special guest clinicians and over 140 high school ensembles from Arizona and nearby states. The two-day festival includes a host concert in which choirs from NAU and professional groups of national and international stature appear. [read more]
The NAU Jazz Festival is a non-competitive arena for middle school, high school, and junior college musicians. This type of festival creates a relaxed atmosphere that promotes education as opposed to competition. Big bands and combos perform for adjudicators to receive ratings and/or comments. Following the performances, most groups will participate in feedback clinics with our adjudicators. [read more]
