Benjamin Ordaz is currently a DMA candidate in tuba at the University of Utah. He has performed with a number of professional orchestras including the New Mexico Symphony, Santa Fe Symphony, San Juan (CO) Symphony, and Utah Symphony. As a soloist, he has appeared most recently on the recital stage of the International Tuba/Euphonium Association Southwest Conference in 2011. In addition, he is an active teacher of low brass instruments and wind band, having received a music education degree from Indiana University in 2008 and then teaching band at Cibola (Albuquerque) High School. At the same time, he successfully earned a Master's degree in performance from the University of New Mexico. His teachers include Tim Riordan, Charlie Schuchat, Dan Perantoni, Richard White, and Gary Ofenloch.
