Q: Where can I park on campus?
A: NAU tickets all locations on campus 7:30am-10:00pm Mondays - Thursdays and 7:30am-4:30pm Fridays. The Academy has arranged for non-affiliate permits for $110/semester available exclusively to Academy students, who are not NAU employees or students. These passes are good for lots marked "NC". Night passes (after 4:30pm Monday - Thursday) are available at kiosks throughout campus for $4/night and the parking garage on the corner of Knoles and Riordan is available at $2/hour.
Q: What if I missed a dance class?
A: Classes missed due to illness, holidays, or snow days may be made up in any class above or below your regular grade level or in the other section class within your grade level
Q: Where can I obtain tickets for upcoming ticketed performances?
A: Tickets can be purchased at the Central Ticket Office located in the student union.
Q: Where can I purchase dance attire?
A: Dance attire can be purchased online through various providers—we recommend Discount Dance for most apparel. RAD regulation leotards can be purchased online through RAD USA. Additional dance dress code information can be found here.
Q: Where can I obtain an instrument?
A: The NAU Community Music and Dance Academy maintains a small inventory of string instruments for rent. Instruments are also available through local retailers such as Arizona Music Pro.
Q: When do I meet for my private lesson?
A: Lessons are scheduled with your private instructor.
Q: What if I can’t make a scheduled lesson?
A: Please notify your instructor as soon as possible. One free make-up lesson is allowed each semester. Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours notice or skipped entirely will be considered forfeited and will not be rescheduled.
Q: Where are lessons held?
A: Lessons are held in practice rooms and studios in the Performance and Fine Arts Building (Bldg. 37) or in the Ponderosa Building (Bldg. 92) on the NAU campus.
Q: How do I pay for instruction?
A: The Academy accepts checks, money order, or credit/debit card payments (American Express, VISA, Master Card, or Discover--all which can be taken over the phone). Checks can be made out to "NAU Academy". We discourage cash but ask that if you choose to pay this way that you provide exact change.
