Needs-Based Appointments and Walk-In Hours
We offer needs-based appointments and walk-in hours for students, staff and faculty. Schedule the appointment yourself
or come to any location during operating hours and our Student Assistants will gladly assist you.
We are very happy to work with your students in the UWC. Successful sessions are a balance of student interest and willingness to take an active role in shaping their documents through revision and editing feedback. Students who are required to attend our sessions or who come for an extra-credit signature are often disinterested and do not benefit from our sessions. Therefore, we do not sign attendance verifications and recommend that faculty require students to address any revisions completed as a result of the feedback during the session. This approach to extra-credit encourages students to become pro-active in their writing.
Please contact us if you wish to work on effective alternatives to our traditional sessions to help your students improve their writing in your courses: email@example.com
The University Writing Commons is committed to assisting students, staff and faculty in the development, adaptation and improvement of writing, research, design and presentation inside and outside of the academic classroom. Writing is important for both discovery and communication. Our approach to writing is collaborative, and we encourage the individual style, goals and talents of every writer.
