Applying as a transfer student
What’s your path to NAU?
Whether you choose to transfer to NAU’s Flagstaff campus, one of our many statewide locations, or NAU Online, we’ll support your smooth transition so you can focus on finishing your degree.
Admission requirements for transfer students
Admission
You will be offered admission to NAU as a transfer student if:
- You’ve completed the Arizona General Education Curriculum (AGEC), AGEC-B, AGEC-S, or California Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) with a cumulative GPA of 2.5+ OR
- You’ve completed an associate degree with a cumulative GPA of 2.0+
You will be considered for admission if:
- You have 12-23 transferable credits and a core high school GPA of 2.0 or above (we will evaluate your high school coursework)
- You have 24 or more transferable credits with a cumulative college GPA of at least 2.00
Note that with a completed AGEC, IGETC, or CSUGE, you will have fulfilled all of the lower-level requirements but not the junior- or senior-level writing requirement of the NAU Liberal Studies program. Without a completed AGEC, IGETC or CSUGE, you are still eligible to apply appropriate credits toward your NAU degree.
