The Testing Center supports student success by offering exams that students may need to get into college, to obtain college credit, to place in college classes, and to prepare for life after college.

The Professional Testing Center
We are a Pearson Vue Select Testing Center. We administer NES, GMAT, NREMT, DANB, Real Estate, and several other tests through this partnership.

The Testing Center requires currently enrolled students to seek interpretive services for the Strong and Myers-Briggs. Interpretive services are free to currently enrolled NAU students through NAU Career Development at University College. For more information about interpretive services of the Myers-Briggs and Strong, contact NAU Career Development at University College.
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) assessment is the most widely used personality assessment in the world. With a proven record of reliability spanning more than 50 years, it offers a foundation for understanding individual differences and applying that understanding to the ways people think, communicate, and interact. Form M of the instrument has 93 items and provides the basic MBTIfour-letter type that will supply you with a personalized description of your personality preferences designed to explore and identify your unique individuality.
The Newly Revised Strong Interest Inventory is the most respected and widely used career planning instrument in the world, with major updates and new content that reflect the way we work today including 30 Basic Interest Scales with a new focus on technology, finance and investing, marketing, and entrepreneurship, 6 updated General Occupational Themes, identifying Investigative thinkers to Enterprising persuaders, revised 244 Occupational Scales (over 120 jobs) from Network Administrator to Financial Manager to ESL Instructor, and a new 5-point answer format to more accurately measure individual style preferences in learning, leadership, risk taking, work style, and team orientation.
CLEP Testing at NAU
To Register for a CLEP Exam
Step 1: Find Out NAU's CLEP Policy.
Each college sets its own policy regarding which CLEP exams it will grant credit for and how many credits it will award. For NAU's CLEP / Credit-By-Exam Policies, visit HERE.
Step 2: Check available NAU Exams HERE.
Step 3: Visit the CLEP website HERE to register for the exam you want to take.
Step 4: Call The NAU Testing Center to schedule CLEP proctoring at: 928-523-2358. Proctoring sessions occur monthly.
Step 5: Bring your CLEP voucher and valid ID on the day of your exam.
KAPLAN Admission Exam
The Kaplan entrance exam is required for admission to the School of Nursing. If you have any questions on this process, contact the NAU School of Nursing.

Canceling and rescheduling of KAPLAN exams MUST be done more than 24 hours in advance or the examinee will forfeit the entire testing fee and repayment will be required to reschedule.
The Testing Center offers the English placement exam year round by appointment and during freshman orientation sessions. These exams are delivered using the Accuplacer computer-based system.
- Each placement exam costs $25
- Results are available immediately
Please register and pay for your test through the Online Registration System. Candidates who use the online system will have priority seating. You can also register and pay at our offices or by phone at (928) 523-2358.
The Testing Center accepts:
- Cash, checks, or money orders
- Credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, JCB and American Express)

Placement Tests for Distance Learning Students
Northern Arizona University accepts ACCUPLACER placement scores from other institutions. Stuidents should request to take the Accuplacer Writeplacer for English placement. Students located in Arizona can take an Accuplacer test at Rio Salado College by applying for a Rio Salado Identification Number and forwarding their score report to Northern Arizona University to the appropriate departments below.

The Testing Center is available to proctor tests for other institutions. We can accommodate paper-based and computer-based exams. The following information can be used to fill-out a Proctor Information sheet that may be required by your institution.
Please know that Testing Center must receive the exam (either paper-based or electronic) BEFORE the appointment can be scheduled. Proctored exams must be scheduled through our front desk. To schedule an appointment, call (928) 523-2358 during normal business hours.
The GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Test) is administered through our PearsonVue Select services. For more information about the exam, to find a test center location, and to register online, visit the GMAT web site.
The MAT (Miller Analogies Test), for admission to graduate programs, is computer-based. The fee for the test is $85.
- Candidates must present current picture identification to take the exam.
- The MAT is a 50 minute exam.
- Bring information about the institution(s) that scores will be sent. Scores can be sent to three institutions.
- Unofficial scores will appear at the end of the test for viewing.MAT will mail official scores to the designated home address and to the institutions selected within four weeks after completion of the exam.
