If you are an Extended Campuses student, the Student Learning Centers are available to help you. We offer online tutoring for Math, Composition, Psychological Sciences and can also assist you with study strategies and tips for academic success.  

Welcome to NAU Online Tutoring!  With Online Tutoring NAU students can type, share documents and even video chat with a CRLA certified tutor!  We offer tutoring in the Following Subjects:

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: I am an Extended Campus student, can I use NAU’s online tutoring service?

A: Of Course!  NAU Online Tutoring is open to all NAU students including Online students, Flagstaff Mountain students and Extended Campus students.  You can access NAU Online tutoring from anywhere you have internet access.

Q: When I try to enter the tutoring portal it says “Not Found” and tells me I do not have permission to access the room.  What do I do?

This message is coming up because BbLearn is open.  Sadly, you cannot have BbLearn and the tutoring room open at the same time in the same browser.  You will have to quit your browser, reopen it, and log back into to your MyNAU portal.  You will then be allowed into the tutoring portal.

Q: I need BbLearn open while I work with my tutor, what should I do?

A: You can open BbLearn in a separate browser and it will work.  Once you get into the tutoring portal, you can also talk to your tutor about other options to get into BbLearn while in the tutoring portal.

Q: I want to schedule a time for online tutoring, but it is not on the schedule.  Will I still be able to schedule that time?

A:  Our online tutoring hours are scheduled to show when our tutors will be available.  For possible alternative support options, feel free to call the South SLC at 928-523-7391 and a team member will assist you in looking for additional resources.

Q:  I want to schedule an appointment for a time on the schedule.  Does online tutoring fill up?  When should I schedule it?

A:  We schedule appointments up to two weeks in advance.  Appointments do fill up, so it is important you call as early as possible to ensure you are able to schedule the appointment time you want.

Q:  I need to cancel an appointment I scheduled.  What do I do?

A:  To cancel a scheduled appointment call the South SLC at 928-523-7391.  Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance of the appointment, or it will be considered a missed appointment.  After a second missed appointment, you will not be able to schedule another appointment without first meeting with SLC administrative staff.

Q: Do I have to download any software to use online tutoring?

A: Our online tutoring portal does require your internet browser have the most recent edition of Adobe Flash Player.  Luckily this is free and only takes a few minutes to download.  Our new online tutoring system no longer requires you to download special software.

Q:  It is after 8:00PM and I have a technical question about getting into the Tutoring Room.  Who can I call?

A:  After 8:00pm you can call NAU ITS at 928-523-9294 for technical issues.  Between 9:00am and 8:00pm, Monday-Thursday, and 9:00am and 5:00pm Friday, you can call the South Student Learning Center at 928-523-7391 to schedule an appointment or receive assistance with access to online tutoring.

Q: I am in the online tutoring room and no one is here to help.  What do I do?

A:  Make sure you are in the correct tutoring room at the appropriately scheduled time.  If this is the case, please call the South SLC front desk for further assistance at 928-523-7391.  Please also ensure your NAU email is open, as our tutor will try to contact you through NAU email if there are any technical difficulties.
