Sustainable Living Certificate

So you want to earn or renew a Sustainable Living Certificate and become a No Impact Jack? Good news: You’re in the right place.

Thank you for wanting to participate. Our goal is to inspire NAU students living on campus to adopt and practice sustainable living habits. By choosing to become a No Impact Jack, you will be supporting NAU’s commitment to conserve limited natural resources and help make the world a better place.

It is easy to participate. You will complete a form selecting two new behaviors to commit to start doing. The form provides a list of easy and realistic sustainable living behaviors that you can do while living on campus. You also have the opportunity to achieve higher levels of certification by reporting your other current sustainable living habits.

We have identified the following categories as areas where you have the power to take action and make choices in how you chose to live at NAU. These categories are:

    • Energy Conservation
    • Water Conservation
    • Transportation Alternatives
    • The Three R’s (Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle)
    • Food Systems
    • Shopping and Consumerism
    • Laundry
    • Campus Action/Knowledge

As recognition for your efforts, we will put a No Impact Jack certificate on your door. Additionally, as an added incentive to take action, the first 100 people to complete their certification and achieve at least the Mars Hill level of certification will get a No Impact Jack t-shirt!
