Each semester, a Classlist is built for every section you are an instructor of record for. Mailing lists are typically built well before the start of the term and remain alive 2 weeks past the section’s end date.
Classlists subscribers are created automatically. Students who add the class are added as subscribers, students who drop the class are removed as subscribers. Classlists updates it subscribers every night.
Any messages posted to the list are saved in a list digest. Any students who add the class will receive the list digest which includes list traffic to date.
You can send an attachments to your class list (syllabus, assignments, answer keys, etc), but like any attachment, there is a 5MB limit.
