It is important to make sure you are purchasing the exact textbook your instructor is requiring for your NAU courses. This will ensure the pages you read and the exercises you complete are the same as those assigned by the instructor. One way to ensure you are purchasing the correct textbook is to check for the correct ISBN number. You can look up the correct textbook information even before you enroll in a course by following the steps below to View Required Textbooks in LOUIE.

After logging into your LOUIE Student Center, select the Search for Classes button located in the upper right-hand side of the window.

Select the semester you wish to find textbooks for and click the button labeled Go.

Select the course information in the appropriate text boxes under Class Search Criteria and click the Search button.

This will bring up a list of the classes that meet the search criteria. Click on the Section number link to see the Class Details for this class section.

NOTE: Each class section could be taught by a different instructor, so it’s important to bring up the Class Details page for each section in which you are considering enrolling and notice whether a different textbook is required. 

Click on the View Required Textbooks link located on the Class Details page.

A window will come up with the ISBN number, estimated prices, title and author(s), along with any other information that is available for each book.

IMPORTANT NOTES: 

• If textbooks are required, and your instructor has given the information to the NAU Bookstore, that information will display.
• If textbooks are not required for a given class section, that information will display as well.
• If no textbook assignment was received by the NAU Bookstore, information telling students that materials have not been assigned will display. Please contact your instructor.
