Licensing Information

The licenses for statistical packages at NAU expire on June 30 each year. To continue using the software you must purchase a license each year. There is a grace period so your software will still run for the first month of the new fiscal year giving you time to purchase a new license when they become available. You cannot purchase a license in the current fiscal year for the next fiscal year. You must wait until after the new fiscal year starts.

ITS is also implementing SPSS, SAS and JMP on virtual servers, offering free usage to students, faculty and staff.

Updating your JMP License

Applying your JMP license will be different based on whether you are installing for the first time or renewing a license. The SID file will be issued to you when you renew or initially buy a JMP license.

Step 1

Save your SAS installation data file(s) (SID file). This file is the file that was supplied to you by email by ITS after purchasing the software through the ITS software store. The sid file is located in jmpmaclic.zip for the Mac or jmpwinlic.zip for Windows.

We recommend you save your SID file (the attached file) in your "Documents" folder.

Step 2

Start JMP. Once you start JMP you should eventually see a window similar to the following:
