Excel 2010 Sparkline

New in Excel 2010, a Sparkline is tiny chart in the background of a worksheet cell. It is a great way to show a snapshot of trends in a series of values, such as an increase or decrease in sales.


To create a Sparkline: 

  1. Enter the required data.
  2. Choose an empty cell to place the Sparkline.
  3. Go to the Insert tab, and in the Sparkline group choose which chart you would like to use by clicking on the command. You can choose Line, Column, or Win/Loss.

  4. In the data range field, select the range of data that you would like to include for the Sparkline chart.

  5. Click on the OK button.

You should now see the Sparkline in the selected cell.
